Married over twenty seven years and performing together for ten, Gene and Gayla consider it a special pleasure and honor to play at weddings. There is no more memorable an occasion than the day a couple wed, and Gene and Gayla take care in setting the sound backdrop for the couple and their guests. For the ceremony, they can play a variety of instrumental music, slow or fast paced. For the cocktail hour, their covers range from traditional ballads to the Beatles, Larry Sparks to Bob Dylan, Hot Rize to the Louvin Brothers. “The dynamic between the both of them is just beautiful. It’s a sweet thing to watch.” (Karen Atkinson, WHAN radio). Gene’s songs, which have won over two dozen awards, tell rich stories, many based on real people–miners, farmers, lovers, and soldiers. His first CD Waiting for Rain garnered nationwide airplay. Gene and Gayla’s second CD If Stones Could Talk reached #5 on the Roots Music Folk Chart and #11 on the Folk DJ chart.
