Second Nature
The Second Nature Band is a diverse group of ten that can play music for all occasions. Their dazzling sound encompasses multiple genres such as jazz, funk, R&B, soul, rock, Motown, classic, standards and ballads. Collectively they have over fifty years of professional experience. Their signature sound has been developed by outstanding musical influences such as: Earth, Wind & Fire, Grover Washington, Jr., Donald Byrd & the Blackbirds, Crusaders, Etta James, Frankie Beverly & Maze, Cameo, Doobie Brothers, Parliament, Luther Van Dross and so many more.
The band leader and vocalist, Lin Baker (a Richmond, VA native) started Second Nature as a dream in 2007. By the end of 2008, his dream was manifested into a phenomenal family of gifted musicians. The family members are: Ted Matthews (drums), Monique Allen (vocalist), Brett King (trombone/vocalist), Richard Harman (keyboards), Chris Beasley, (lead guitar), Cedric “Trudy” Hughes (bass guitar), Timothy Brown (saxophone), Giz Bowe (trumpet) and Johnnie Macon (percussion/vocals). The group is professionally managed by Kim Baker of Rizing Starz Productions, Inc.
Second Nature has a unique sound that is “Second to None”. From the dynamic horn section and mesmerizing vocals to the relentless rhythm section, they create powerful music. This band would be an enhancement to any party, social or corporate gathering, wedding reception, night club or celebration of any kind.
